BIN COLLECTION UPDATE

Writer's picture: Cllr Paul WrayCllr Paul Wray

Refuse collection crews have been out in force and doing all they can to get as many bins emptied as safely as possible in very difficult conditions throughout the city.

While many other towns and cities have cancelled collections altogether, crews in Leeds collected, collecting 430 tonnes of waste alone yesterday - all despite sub-zero temperature and difficult road conditions.

Conditions will continue to remain problematic over the next few days, with continued below zero temperature or just above persisting.

If your bin not be collected on the scheduled weekday this week, please leave it out and, weather permitting, another attempt will be made later in the week.

Black bins will be prioritised.

Additional/excess waste can be left for collection next to bins, providing it is securely bagged.
