International Day of Older People Event

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PEOPLE EVENT

The event will be held on International Day of Older People, Tuesday, 1st October, at the South Stand at Headingley Stadium, from 11am to 2pm. The theme is “The part we play”: Celebrating the integral role of older people in our communities.

The event, in partnership with Leeds Older People's Forum, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, and Leeds City Council, will feature activities, talks, and performances including;

- Opening speech by Roger Harrington (trustee at Leeds Older People's Forum and member of the The Performance Ensemble)

- Talk by Professor Alice O'Grady on older performers in burlesque

- Performances by Medusa Has Been and The Performance Ensemble

- Dance tasters, stadium tour, and Rose's Tea Bar

- Annie Cochrane who was featured on Look North will also be sharing why she still continues to work at 90 at Leeds United.

The venue is fully accessible with free parking, quiet spaces, and additional seating.
