This week I attended an update and round-table about the work of Prevent in Leeds.
Prevent is a national programme that aims to stop people from being radicalised and from committing terrorist criminal acts.
Those aiming to radicalising others have become more sophisticated, with a heavy use of technology to help them identify those who are susceptible and vulnerable to their messaging.
Those attempting to radicalise others come from every extreme on the political and social spectrum - Prevent is there to deal with all threats and is not targeted at one specific social or political group.
I know this is an area of work that causes controversy and strong feelings, so I will be very strict on inappropriate comments on this thread and will, if needed, take the unusual steps of closing comments if required.
But it is important to share information on this vital work that helps protect all of us, and does save lives.
