SKELTON GRANGE ENERGY FROM WASTE PLANT - STEAM BLOWING

Writer's picture: Cllr Paul WrayCllr Paul Wray

The company will be starting hot commissioning of the enfinium Skelton Grange Energy from Waste plant today, so residents may notice visible signs of steam being emitted from the facility.

After that, they will commence steam blowing, which will ensure internal cleaning of the boilers and pipework.

This will last approximately two months and involve the occasional discharge of steam via a noise reduction silencer on the east side of the plant. Again, a steam plume may be visible.

They have scheduled the steam blowing to take place during the early morning and late afternoon hours, and last approximately 30 minutes.

All the work carried out follows normal and safe practice for the commissioning of a power plant, in compliance with planning and permits.
