Ward Work update

It has been a busy few days. Here is some of my other work I've done that I've not posted about.

Yesterday I attended an update on the council and it's partners work to reduce gambling harm. This is a complex area of work and it was useful to get an update on how we're supporting people with a gambling addiction.

This was followed by a partner and stakeholder meeting, which include the likes of The Hunslet Club, Involve, Hunslet & Belle Isle Community Project (and many more, to talk about the needs of Hunslet and to see if there was an appetite for a working group to develop an overarching development plan for the area.

Partners agreed to spend till the end of the year listening to residents and feeding back their insights. This will then be used to decide what the group should focus on.

I then spent the afternoon doing casework before a meeting of the Leeds Labour Group in the evening to discuss the work of the administration and receive important citywide updates.

Today, after the Greenmount estate inspection, I dropped into Involve Leeds to see how things were going. There was a first-aid course in full flow before a meeting in the afternoon held by Voluntary Action Leeds.

I then attended the West Yorkshire Police - Leeds South Tasking Meeting to discuss ongoing crime and antisocial behaviour issues across the ward with council staff and other partners.

I then spent the afternoon doing even more casework before attending the Local Governing Board for Hunslet St Mary's CofE Primary Academy.

I'm now home doing some paperwork and report readings before a long day of meetings tomorrow.
